Mr. President, Sir! Why do we always want the president to - TopicsExpress

Mr. President, Sir! Why do we always want the president to intervene in everything at lower levels when there are people entrusted with such tasks? Today I see people condemning Sata for the violence in Northern province against HH. Where is the Inspect General of police and those under the IG in Northern province? If we can all demonstrate on the streets to ask the president to remove the IG for failing to police Zambia, we would be sending a huge message to someone elsewhere! How I wish Zambia could be run by institutions and not individuals! Yes if Sata says stop, it will stop but surely when are we going to allow the republican head of state to start running the country at a higher level? Today we can blame Sata for our failure to work with systems but it will be the same under HH, Mumba, Nawakwi, etc for as long as this mentality continues; i.e. the president being seen as Senior Chief Michael Sata of the Zambia Chiefdom! Will Zambia still be Mr. President, Sir in the new constitution? Just wondering...
