Mr.Tashi Phuntsok, Secretary of the Department of Information & International Relations, Central Tibetan Administration today spoke to over 25 Indian college students. The students are part of the Gurukul programme organised by Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Secretary Tashi Phuntsok gave a brief introduction of the Central Tibetan Administration, its present structure and policies. He explained in detail the seven departments of the administration and answered questions from the students regarding the function and efficacy of the departments. He also spoke to the students about the efforts being made by the Central Tibetan Administration to secure genuine autonomy through dialogue based on the Middle Way Approach. The two-hour long interaction included discussions on the financial viability of the Central Tibetan Administration; the reasons for amending the title of Kalon Tripa to Sikyong; the sustainability of the Tibetan settlements, etc.
