Much ado about the recently commissioned Akwa Ibom Stadium Uyo. This proof of concept (video clip) will take you on a virtual tour of the facility and of the entire stadium district. Some of Akwa Ibom state officials are seen talking about the quality assurance process and about the VISION behind the project.. The project was managed by Germans and it would appear it was delivered on schedule, What i was looking for is robust information about value and benefits realisation but not much of that is available here. From the pieces I could put together from different sources, it is safe to assume that it could well spark sport regeneration of the entire state if well managed. It is important that there are well-articulated plans to not only put the facilities to good use but as well, jump-start the culture of youths participation in sports through-out the state. It may well serve as the offshoot to Samuel Ogbemudias sport village concept which till date remains the incubator of top athletes in Africa.
