My 14 month old does not say any audible words at all. She babbles - TopicsExpress

My 14 month old does not say any audible words at all. She babbles a lot and makes plenty of baby noises. She is VERY animated.. Makes tons of silly faces and is always making people laugh. Another thing that she doesnt do that concerns me is point with her finger. She will reach for things but not use her finger to point it out. Im trying not to freak out about her being behind but the older she gets, the more I worry. I know she understands me.. I say get the ball, sippy cup, give a hug or kiss, etc and she will do it. It seems at times she tries to repeat what I say, like when I say bath, but she uses ba or ma a lot to express herself. I wondered if she was autistic many times but she is very lovey and plays with other children. She smiles and laughs all the time. If she is going to need extra help I would like to intervene as early as possible! Please any kind suggestions!! I should also add that she is very much attached to me, which may be because we still bf. she also clings to whoever who is watching her.-Anonymous
