My 5 – 9th is Hunger Awareness Week. The struggle to put food on the table can hit anyone. Food Banks Canada tells us that hundreds of thousands of Canadians turn to food banks every month in Canada. A full 12% of those people seeking help are already employed, another 5 % are recently unemployed, and 1 in 3 recipients are children. Let’s salute and, most importantly, support the work done by local food banks, churches, and soup kitchens whose efforts make a real difference in our communities.
