My 9 year old daughter, Brooke, doesnt like sports. I thought she did. We spend time together throwing a football, she loved learning how. Tossing a softball. Playing with basketball, just yesterday I was showing her how to dribble. For months I thought she loved sports cause she was always begging me to play with here and the football, softball, basketball or soccer. Yesterday while using the basketball she made a comment that got me to thinking and I came up with a theory in regards to her love of sports. I started suggesting we do other stuff, boring stuff, not fun at all, even doing some work. And each time she would ask if we would do it together, me and her, when I said yes she would very happily say yes and run to what ever it was. My daughter doesnt love sports..........she loves me and spending time with me. I asked her about it today and she smiled and admitted she doesnt like sports but she knows I love football so she wanted to learn about football in order to spend time with me. Its one of those things that I did know but when a lesson is learned in this fashion, it really drives the point home. Sitting next to her right now watching the Flash with the rest of the family.
