Since Delegate Hershey will not Debate me in front of the four - TopicsExpress

Since Delegate Hershey will not Debate me in front of the four 36th District Central Committees and since delegate Hershey, does not appear willing to go public with "The letter of interest" that he submitted to the four Central Committees, by publishing his letter of interest and materials provided to the Central Committees as I did yesterday, (see below) then I request, that perhaps, the Central Committee members who voted for Delegate Steve Hershey could speak as to his qualifications and why they voted for him. Is there any Central Committee member willing to publicly come forward and speak on behalf of their choice of Delegate Hershey, telling what specific achievements convinced them of his being the best of the 14 names submitted? Had we been given a chance to debate, I would have mentioned a few of the other things that I have contributed over the last 12 years of representation in the House of Delegates that most citizens would have no idea of my having given. I own a building in Elkton, Maryland where my law office is located and I have donated a ground floor room as a local delegation office for more than a decade. The going rate of the non street level offices is $650 per month and the building is full. The office is directly across the street from the Cecil County Court House. That space has been donated to the citizens of the 36th District the whole time I have been in office. At the end of my third term that will amount to over $87,000 of free office space donated to the citizens of the 36th District. I have also donated my time and talents as a litigator to sue the Governor and the State Comptroller on three different occassions when it was argued that the Governor or the State of Maryland had exceeded their Constitutional authority. I sued over slots being put into our Constitution, over the misleading ballot question language which said the slots money was going for education, over the one and a half billion dollar special session tax increase and when the Governor passed an executive order requiring Maryland Day Care Providers to join Unions. I never charged the taxpayers one cent for the tens of thousands of dollars worth of legal services I have provided over the last decade. These things have never been mentioned publicly before today because I did not think they were anything more than what a zealous public servant should be willing to do to in order to be giving 100% to the job I was honored to be elected to perform. I ask that in addition to those things which have received publicity and which I have cited to in my "letter of interest" that the Central Committees of the 36th District also consider these lesser known, but no less important, services provided to the citizens of the 36th District while I have served as their elected State Delegate. If honored by being selected as the next Senator I would continue to provide such extraordinary services at no cost to the citizens of the 36th District. As always should any member of any of the Central Committees in the 36th District have any questions at any time, please call my cell, 24/7 at 410-920-0128.
