My brother John (he served in the Marine Le Pen, la page officielles) wrote this. Paul and I just watched the movie Lone Survivor. I absolutely agree with Johns statement. I will continue to pray for those serving and those who have served. You all deserve better than what this government is doing. There are programs for PTSD. Take advantage of the help offered. I was very thankful for the care I received and support. We went to see this movie. It was not enjoyable or entertaining and because of that I would highly recommend it. It generated some very strong thoughts, the first being thankfulness. We are served, as Americans, by truly amazing military personnel. In many respects these are ordinary people who do tremendous work to keep us safe. The next thoughts have to do with how our military is being used. Something is wrong when our government can spend billions of dollars on things like Solyndra, studies to determine how much cow farts contribute to global warming and aid to other countries so they too can fight climate change and yet our military pay, pensions and benefits are a political football to be thrown around any time a budget deal is negotiated. Service members deserve better. My thoughts turned to Benghazi as well. That situation should be an open sore on the minds of loyal Americans. The question was asked, What does it matter? What difference does it make? It matters because Americans fought and ended up dying and nobody had their backs. A trust was broken. They Were Expendable should only be a movie title not a policy of the State Department regarding its ambassadors and security personnel. If I recall correctly during the 2008 Democratic primary campaign the question was asked as to who you would rather have get that call at 3 in the morning when the crap has hit the fan. I know who I dont want getting that call. We can do better.
