My brother Nikola Hristovski graduated from Malabar 1971 Nikola Nick A. Hristovski MANSFIELD: Nikola A. Nick Hristovski, 60, of Mansfield died unexpectedly Friday, February 7, 2014 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Nikola was born May 1, 1953 in Bitola, Yugoslavia, to Luba and Aleksandar T. Hristovski. Nikola, his parents, and younger brother, John moved to Mansfield Ohio in 1958. He is a 1971 graduate of Malabar High School. In 1973, they became naturalized U.S. citizens. Nikola Hristovski married Kriste A. Schindler on July 4, 1976. They were blessed with three wonderful children. Nick was a loving, caring, devoted husband, father, grandfather (Dedo), brother and uncle. He was an avid photographer, enjoyed gardening, and nature. He loved writing poetry and his poem In the Dead of Winter was published. He was also an extra in the movie The Shawshank Redemption. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kriste; daughter, Kelly; granddaughter, Natalie Hristovski (Mansfield); son, Joseph (Melissa) Hristovski; step grandchildren, Taylor, Ben, and Nick (Ashland); daughter, Bridget (Nick) Stalvey and soon-to-be grandson (Brandon, FL); brother, John Hristovski, and his fiancée, Linda Armstrong (Mansfield); nephew, Michael Hristovski and his fiancée, Sara Gast (Mansfield); brother, George (Rosy) Hristovski; niece, Mila (Elverta, CA); sister, Cveta (Cecil) Workman; nephews, Matthew, Kyle, and Nathan (Mansfield); sister, Angelina (Michael) Spargo; niece, Alley and nephew, Ryan (Findlay); loving aunt, Victoria Petrofski; cousins, Donna (Scott) Calderhead, Jenah, and Aaron (Mansfield); sister-in-law, Linda (John) Russo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a dear close friend, Gary (Lisa) Cardwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luba and Aleksandar T. Hristovski; in-laws, Albert (Margaret), Joseph Schindler, and Linda Hristovski; uncles, Koste Gashtev and Metodija G. Petrofski. Friends may call Wednesday February 12, 2014 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield with Trisagion services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday February 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 265 W. Third St., Mansfield. All services will be conducted by Father Michael Ellis. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park, Ontario. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
