My dick is bigger than yours. I have been found out, called - TopicsExpress

My dick is bigger than yours. I have been found out, called out, ridiculed, my good name besmirched………actually I am full of shit…..or somebody in this exchange is. As I exchange commentary and viewpoints in several different venues, I have an opportunity to “meet” several…….assholes, and, for lack of a better term, people that just ain’t that smart. Some of you my wife and I have met in person and we always enjoy that. But something happened the other day that left me amused; I was “called out” by someone unknown. Okay, here is what happened. On facebook a “petition” or whatever those things are, was circulating encouraging people to send Rush Limbaugh a birthday card. Now, I am not going to send Rush a birthday card, I don’t even listen to Rush Limbaugh (hard to fathom, I know, since we conservative Americans are all alike), and whatever I am doing, including nothing, does not leave me enough time to wish Rush a happy birthday…….hell I barely remember my own. Someone responded that they were not going to wish a draft dodger a happy birthday and went on with a few disparaging remarks. I replied that I thought it was fairly incongruent for someone to support Clinton, an admitted draft dodger, Obama, who would give one of your testicles to avoid doing anything for the nation, and fault Limbaugh for dodging the draft. Then, since I don’t listen to Limbaugh and was unaware that he was a draft dodger, I spent a while doing the research and am completely unconvinced that Limbaughs failure to serve had anything to do with “draft dodging”. Ahhhh….but this is the internet, and you are always smarter than the person at the other end of the computer, or you think that you are. The writer IMMEDIATELY went off topic and informed me that his 20 years in the service earned him the right to call anyone a “chickenhawk”, and then briefed me on his two combat tours and the number of people he had killed (I think that he considered those his credentials) and called into question my own service, number of combat tours and number of people I had killed. Now, other than being a moronic response, I simply consider that bad taste. I draw my “there I was” line on the fact that I served, I am not a war story guy, I didn’t get a kick out of living them and don’t think many would get a kick out of hearing them. My wife didn’t know me when I was in uniform and knows virtually nothing about my years in the service. I don’t have a problem with it, it was just something that was, and to be honest, if I didn’t work for the DoD I probably wouldn’t give it much thought now. I am not real sure where my uniforms are, I know that I can’t put my hands on all of my badges and awards and I don’t really care. Maybe one day I will wish I had paid more attention to all of that, but this ain’t that day. I DO however put great stock in other people’s service, not to the point where I want to know the number of combat tours one has served, or how many people you have killed, I don’t care and I am not real sure how important that is. I guess my viewpoint is that I consider the service of others more important than that of myself; it was something I feel compelled to do, and when I was thru, I was thru. And I don’t feel like I EARNED anything, which is good because the progressives are working their asses off to ensure that I have nothing to show for it. The court awarded my –ex wife almost all of my retired pay (and when I say almost all, I mean that if my remaining pay didn’t hit the bank one month, I probably wouldn’t notice it), the government is killing itself trying to Obamacare my health insurance, and if I didn’t actually work on a military installation, I wouldn’t live close enough to one to enjoy any of the access that comes with being a retiree. It was over two decades of working for the same company with nothing to show for it. You on the other hand, get my recognition and thanks. AND I don’t feel like I have earned the right to call anyone a chickenhawk. Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Clinton nor Obama served in the military yet used military solutions to problems and I don’t believe I have ever referred to any of them as a “chickenhawk”. If there is one thing that life under the progressives should have taught a veteran is that nobody gives a shit, you don’t get an extra vote, your opinion doesn’t count more than that of anyone else (less than if you are on the government dole). So topics such as “how many combat tours” or “how many people did you kill” used to establish bonafides are in poor taste in my mind. My new facebook friend was simply trying to prove that his manhood was bigger than mine. And that is fine, it may be…..I DOUBT it, he probably just talks about it more, is more proud of his. But if it matters, the combat tours is two. The number killed is that I have no idea, it was done from the front of a helicopter or my field artillery or the USAF at my behest; I would say more than zero, less than 100, but again, I don’t know. Throw in involvement in Bosnia, the Kurdistan region of Turkey/Iraq, Sierra Leone and a few other crap holes and I THINK that I qualify as legitimate for my new friend. I am always surprised when other veterans want to compare dick size, but clearly they are still out there. I am glad that my new friend is a John Wayne, we need those types…..I encourage him to get his shit and go do it all again.
