My fellow FB friends: Many have messaged me asking me to share the result of the US National Defense Force Support Command FEMA, Home Land Security and Leadership training and banquet on 10/18/14. I would like to share that the event was very successful. We had a variety of presenters and speakers, including professionals from the Wisconsin FEMA, Wisconsin Veteran Affairs, and elected officials. It was a great experience and opportunity for the members to learn and meet such important people in our community. Members also received Certificate of Recognition from both the Wisconsin and US Senates for their services, leadership, good citizenship and patriotism. In addition, the evening fundraiser banquet was also a success. We had over 200 people attend, including important figures in the Hmong community who were given medals of leadership for their roles in working and contributing to the community for over the last 30 years. The message was that we need to “honor and respect our own before others will honor and respect us”. We celebrated and dance the night away and had a wonderful time with old and new friends. Thanks to those who came out to participate and support the event. To those who missed out this time, we will hold another event next year so we hope you will be able to join us next time.
