My friendship with Matt Carr And our ministry together in SWITCH resulted in my transformation from a luke warm Christian to a man on fire for God- Soon after I signed up & began serving in SWITCH Matt asked me to go to lunch with him (I thought maybe I had done something wrong). We met at cool greens & he told me one of his spiritual gifts was spotting talent & that he saw a lot of talent and potential in me. We talked, laughed, and cried together for more than an hour that day and he ended our conversation by asking me to do the close & present the gospel to the students the following week. I was so pumped up I went home and began praying and preparing right away. As I went on a jog to practice in my head a few days later God revealed some conflicting habits & lifestyles that I was holding on to- things god was unwilling to allow in my life if I wanted to do battle the way he had called me to. I went home that day and laid those things down at the feet of The Lord...the following Wednesday I gave my (lengthy) testimony and rocked that close out for the kingdom. Tears were shed & Hands went up all over the church that night- that was the night God called me into the fight! And he called me through the loving voice of his good & faithful servant Matt Carr. I am a better husband, leader, friend and man because I knew him and because he saw good in me. I cannot hold back the tears as I write these words... Thank you brother Thank you for taking a chance on a sinner like me- I love you & miss you more than words can say!
