My heart goes out to my Kumpare and Kumare Ernesto and Lety Rosales. Their son, Rod is the husband of my daughter Jane. Mare Lety succumbed to breast cancer. It is consoling on my part and Naida too, to have been given the opportunity to be present in their most critical and painful moments. One instance touched me greatly. A day before Mare Lety slipped into unconsciousness and passed away, Pare Erning, who was ever on her side, started singing softly their song of long ago: the song which bonded their then young hearts. Mare Lety, though in great pain and with great effort sang with him. A few hours later she became incoherent and delirious with fever. I raise my hand in praises to this wonderful couple. Faithful and true to the very end. It is a great blessing from God to have known them and have them as friends. Mare Lety, may you rest peacefully and in bliss and may the Lord keep you in the palm of his hand.
