My heart is breaking now for one we could not save. At least for the 2 days of his life that he was in our care he had a name, and he mattered. This is Jamison, who was found emaciated and injured behind the Tipton shelter, foraging for food around the storage building. He was captured yesterday and rushed to Northgate animal hospital where x-rays revealed that he had been shot in both front legs. Due to missing bone, much infection and the fact that he is 10+ yrs old, he is not a candidate for orthopedic surgery. After hearing that euthanasia was the kindest option from 3 different veterinarians, we have finally accepted that decision with as much grace as we can and many tears. We wish that he could have known a different life. Godspeed, sweet Jamison! We wont forget you and we will continue to fight for the battered and the homeless in your honor
