My morning care kids and their parents (who live in back of me) - TopicsExpress

My morning care kids and their parents (who live in back of me) have gone to Cape Cod for the week, so it is pretty quiet here. We have a Korean family next door, and they have 2 little boys about ages 4 & 6, but I rarely see them. So this morning I get up and see those pesky deer munching on the front bushes. It does no good to yell at them, they just ignore me. I decided to use a new tactic. I went out my back door, and walked towards the front on the south side - and started talking to them. Not wanting too get too close, I had to raise my voice. Me: Okay guys, its summer and there is plenty of green stuff down by the school. Deer: Keep eating and ignoring me. Me: Louder, I do not want you here, please move along! Deer: One looks up at me, and goes back to eating. Me: Louder, Damn it, move along!! Me: Jumping up and down while yelling, Shoo! Deer: Look annoyed because I am disturbing their breakfast, and start moving to the north side of the lawn and finally go into the neighbors yard. (He is not friendly, so I am glad and sort of do a small fist-pump in the air.) Then, I see something move out of the corner of my eye. There I see the two Korean boys - one head above the other - staring at me from the gap in the trees on the edge of their property... Hi I say to them. How come you were talking to the deer, asks the older one? I wanted them to leave and not eat my bushes I tell him. They shake their heads in agreement - and smile at me. They have never smiled at me before... Kids know - they just do. Little do they know, they made my day.
