My number is 5. 1) After I left my last job I felt broken. I did not think I could actually ever teach again. In fact, I thought I was a horrible teacher. 2) I love my 2 current jobs for different reasons. One because of the hours, flexibility, and families I work with. The other because I get to do math every class and my students actually look to me for my knowledge and come to class because they want to be there to achieve success. 3)I have a brother who is 20 years older than I am. I would not recognize him on the street with exception for his eyes. They are just like my dads were. I dont actually have any way to contact him and that is okay. 4) I smoked off and on for the past 20 years. This has been the easiest time to quit. Ive never successfully done it for myself. Quitting has always been for someone else. 5) I have 4 herniated disks: C5-C6, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1. Ive been referred to surgery but I have decided unless I am physically unable to walk I wont even consider it. I have such a fear of losing use of my legs again (10 years ago I had Guillain Barre Syndrome and after a 3 month hospital stay I was in a wheelchair for an additional 6 months, Walker for 18 months, and cane for another 6 months before I was able to walk unassisted) that I will not allow a surgeon to cut into my spine.
