My personal assistant just asked me how come I did not submit in a claim for a AirAsia flight purchase from Myanmar to KL last month for a business trip. It was a last minute purchase because I missed my original flight. I shared that I take personal responsibility for missing the flight and hence the company cannot pay for it although Im the co-founder and the largest shareholder in the company. 3 important lessons; 1. A company is an independent and separate entity. There must be governance accountable to shareholders instead of treating it like a personal ATM for the entrepreneurs. 2. Integrity is the essence of everything successful long term. And integrity is doing things right even when no one is looking. 3. The top must lead by example. If the pillar is not straight, the whole building will be crooked. 上梁不正, 下梁歪. This applies at home, company and for the nation. Share if you like it.
