My second kopitiam political talk during the weekend was held at a hawker’s centre shop at Yong Peng. DAP elected representative for the area Sdri Chew Peck Choo and I were the speakers. After the talk, we had fish ball noodles. Peck Choo told me that the fish ball noodles is very popular with Singaporeans and tourists who come to Yong Peng. My final talk was held at about 5 pm in a coffee shop at Batu Pahat. Together with me were Peck Choo and the DAP assemblywoman for Penggaram, Sdri Gan Peck Cheng. Both of them have worked hard and long in the party and before they were elected at the last general election. I took the opportunity to praise the performance of these two DAP state elected representatives and the success of DAP Johor for making the political breakthrough by having 5 women state Assemblymen and a woman MP in Johor In my speeches at Yong Peng and Batu Pahat, I cited the Chinapress Daily exclusive report on the new petrol and diesel prices which would be effective on Dec 1 and questioned how the government did its calculation as the price reduction for RON 95 was low and the increase for diesel was shocking. I whacked UMNO leaders and delegates for their hate speeches that have hurt the feelings of the non-Malays. I cited the concluding remarks made by the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin at Umno General Assembly that Putrajaya could lose power if BN suffers a 2% drop in voters support in the next general elections. I then asked those who were upset by the hate speeches in UMNO Assembly to influence the other 2% of the voters to topple BN in the next election. I said these 2% could be the young people who have not been registered as voters, they could be the poor Malays and Indians in the rural areas, and they could also be the East Malaysian natives. It is time for all of us who want to bring transformation in Malaysia and to save Malaysia to reach out to them.
