My top ten albums of 2014: #1 Foo Fighters-Sonic Highways What an awesome way to release an album. Combined with the HBO series, Grohl and company created not just an album, but an experience. Like my #2 entry on the countdown, there is not a bad track on here. The thing that puts this album above the rest for me is that it is full heart. It is a love letter the our nations musical landscape and a champion for its preservation. From Seattle to New York, Grohl took us on a trek across America to not only show what we have, but why should treasure it. While the Foo Fighters shoulder the burden of this idea just fine, they dont shy away from Bringing along guests like Joe Walsh, Zac Brown, and the mighty Gary Clark Jr. With this album the Foo Fighters proved that they are the best American rock band going today.
