My youngest daughter was told when she took managerial position she had to report no matter what inclement weather was occurring. So she went to work this morning & there was no snow. It wasnt expected until between 10-12. It started to snow & got worse. She said they had a few customers but all the other stores in the strip mall Had closed around 2:00 & was sending their employees homes b/c the weather was getting worse. I told her to call her District Mgr & ask her if she could close b/c the traffic & weather was really beginning to get bad. They finally told her she could close & send her employes home. She works in Suwannee. The Governor had already shut down all government agencies & called GA a state of emergency. People had been in their cars trying to get home for up to 6 hrs gridlocked. My daughter just now arrived at her sisters house in Jonesboro to pick up her 3 yr old daughter. Dam* shame!!!!! The snow was constant & had been reported for days by the weathermen prior to today. These companies care nothing about the safety of their employees its all about the dollar bills. The gridlock interstates are horrendous, the trucks that lay the sand & salt mixture cant even run b/c of the traffic. Temps dropping to 16 so snow will freeze which is even more dangerous to drive in. Im not going anywhere again tomorrow. Mercer just texted that all campuses are closed again & the workshop I was going to has been cancelled as well. Kiyas school is closed tomorrow as well. People had to abandon their cars b/c they ran out of gas and/or wasnt moving & they became frustrated. I blame the employers for making employees report to work in the first place then sending them home early once they realized how bad the snow was coming down so you have a million ppl on the expressways, not to mention all of the traffic accidents. I blame POOR PLANNING on the employers, the DOT was prepared! IJS👎😡 Im grateful for the people who Made it home safely, Ive been praying all day!!!!!!!!
