NCLR TOWN HALL TO HIGHLIGHT ROLE OF EDUCATION AS CRITICAL CATALYST FOR INTEGRATION NCLR President and CEO to be joined by Director of White House Domestic Policy Council, Cecilia Muñoz, Actress and Activist Eva Longoria and other distinguished speakers NEW ORLEANS—On Saturday, July 20, 2013, NCLR (National Council of La Raza) will host the town hall "Beyond Immigration Reform: How Education is the Catalyst for Integration" during its 2013 Annual Conference held in New Orleans. As the nation awaits passage of a comprehensive immigration reform bill that will provide the opportunity to legalize millions of immigrants currently the country, no institution will have the same place in history or have the same kind of impact on immigrant families as schools will have. This town hall brings together researchers, government officials and thought leaders to discuss the implications of immigration reform for the entire education system from preschool through college. Community members are invited to attend the town hall free of charge and will have an opportunity to interact, share impressions and concerns, and ask questions.
