***NEW app of the day*** (Free) Articulation Quick Screener is a new app, designed to be a quick and easy to use tool for those who likely have the need to use these tools every day. It is easy to GET STARTED in the app by setting up a childs profile, and choosing your settings, which allow you to turn voice prompts, stimulus words, the record button, and sound effects on or off. With default settings, once you start, you select whether you are a parent, teacher, or SLP, and choose from ages ranges for the child. I do want to note that once you get past a certain age the only age is 6 and up, which is logical based on language development. Then, a series of cards are shown, there is a verbal prompt, and option for the child to record the name of the object. The person scoring taps the sounds being tests a specific number of times, one or two, to score whether the sounds was correctly articulated or not. Once the test is completed, you can tap the report button, which generated a report with the childs name, date, score, age, and a written report detailing the childs tests results. There is also a tab for words tested with details of how each word was scored, a tab that takes you to specific errors that were marks and there positions in words (initial, medial, final), as well as tab with a recommendation. In my case, I filled it out in the manner in which my son speaks, so it would suggested that I seek out a certified Speech and Language Pathologist, which makes complete sense. This app is currently free with one free test. Each additional test costs .99 in the U.S. app store. For anyone who is only going to do a few of these, I could see that as being realistic. - Angie bit.ly/1wceKwz
