NEWS PAPER CUTTINGS OF INAUGURATION PROGRAM- Today on 10.07.2014 at 10 AM, a programme to inaugurate drinking water facility at Christian Burial Ground, Chandmari, East Sikkim was held in the presence of Pastors and Christian leaders from different churches in an around Gangtok. The drinking water facility was completed at the cost of `.34000/-donated by St. Thomas Church, Gangtok Sikkim. The occasion was graced by Father Paul Kabo of St. Thomas Church as chief guest. The welcome address was delivered by Pastor Joseph Tamang, President, Christian Burial Ground Committee. Thereafter Father Paul Kabo inaugurated the water supply facility with short message from Bible and commissioning prayer. The occasion was also addressed by Shri C.P. Dewan in which he appreciated the efforts of Christian Burial Ground Committee and its president Pastor Joseph Tamang. The programme concluded with closing prayer by Pastor Robin Chettri of A.G Church. During the programme, Pastor Joseph Tamang also announced the acceptance of resignation by Shri M.T. Sherpa as General Secretary, CBGC and was replaced by Shri Milan Rai till new General Secretary is elected. It may also be noted that the project of constructing fencing and chowkidhar quarter has been started at Christian Burial Ground, Bakthang, East Sikkim from the fund made available by Hon’ble M.P. Rajya Sabha. This will go long way in fulfilling the much required amenities in the Burial Ground as well as to secure the land from further encroachment.
