NEWS UPDATE @ 9AM WITH Orange Uganda: MPS PARDON PRIME MINISTER AMAMA MBABAZI: Members of Parliament (MPs) have rejected the content in the Public Accounts Committee Report that implicates Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi for the diversion of funds to support the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan for Northern Uganda. The MPs instead adopted a recommendation that Former Accountant General Gustavo Bwoch and Pius Bigirimana, the former permanent secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister be held responsible.The legislators yesterday also voted to reject the recommendation of the Prime Minister resigning. SUDAN CALLS FOR UPDF PULL-OUT OF S.SUDAN: The Sudan Armed Forces spokesman Col. Alswarmy Khalid Saad has warned that Uganda’s intervention in South Sudan is a threat to Khartoum’s national security and therefore demands an immediate pull out of the Ugandan troops from the war-torn country. He explains that Uganda is trying to convince South Sudan” that Khartoum is supporting rebel leader, Dr Riek Machar. FUGITIVE PRESIDENT SURFACES: The US has called for all sides to step back and avoid any kind of provocations amid heightened tensions in Ukraines Crimea region. Meanwhile, the ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych who is on the run since he was voted out of office last week, reportedly surfaced in Russia early on Friday, where he is due to give a news conference. WOMAN KILLED, DAUGHTERS RAPED FOR STEALING: A video showing a group of 10 people killing a woman and raping her two daughters for stealing vegetables from a local market in Nigeria, has come out in a report. Six of the convicts have been arrested, while four other suspects remain at large. Human rights activists have condemned the attack stating that street violence is no solution to preventing crime.
