NICHOLS FAMILY REUNION 44TH YEAR Dear family and - TopicsExpress

NICHOLS FAMILY REUNION 44TH YEAR Dear family and friends, The Nichols Family Reunion time this year is May 25, 2014. It’s not far off and for those who are planning on attending – now is the time to make plans. The reunion begins about 11:00 AM with dinner at 12:15 PM. You are asked to bring a dish to pass and your own drinks of choice ((tea and water will be available). If you have any items for the auction please bring them – they are asking that the items be of some value and not your left over garage sale items. The auction is a very important part of our reunion as it is our biggest money maker. The cemetery committee will be meeting on Saturday, the 24th of May at 1:00 PM at the East Poinsett County High School cafeteria (Lepanto is how it is better known to most of us). This meeting is open to any one who wishes to attend and be made aware of what is going on with our cemetery. It is also a time to raise your opinions and concerns and most of all bring some fresh new ideas as to how to raise money for the upkeep of this beautiful resting place. Times are financially hard for many at this time and it has impacted our way of raising money for perpetual care. So we need input from everyone and each of us needs to make our ideas known as to how to rejuvenate this way of raising funds. Cemetery fees are still $15.00 per family per year. Grave sites are $300.00 each unless you are family plus a $300.00 deposit for ALL graves to ensure that a permanent marker will be put up. If after you have put up your own marker within one year, the deposit will be refunded. If no marker is up, the cemetery committee will see that a marker is put up with the deposit money. There is also a Nichols Memorial Garden fund which put up the flag, put in all of the benches, built the sidewalks, maintains the care and placing of broken benches and pays for permanent lighting of the flag on the cemetery. Enclosed are tickets to sell and help raise money for perpetual care program and yearly maintenance funds. They are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You can make your own copies or let us know and we will send you more. This is one of the ways you can help in maintaining this beautiful resting place and keep it a place of pride. The raffle will consist of many nice items and you can also buy extra tickets the day of the auction at the door. We also will be selling tickets on a Ruger O/U 12ga valued at over $1,000.00 which was donated by Gail Nichols as the gun belonged to her late husband, Wayne. The gun will be given away next year at the Nichols Family Reunion 2015. Remember all donations are tax deductible. We also have a reader and pen for those who want to use credit cards. The only item not deductible is maintenance fees. Also bring your loose change and any “PIGGY BANKS” you wish to donate. The new website is “nicholscemetery” a much better website. Check it out and see if you can help with any changes that need to be made or just enjoy reading the history of our cemetery. If you are interested in receiving this newsletter every year let us know or else you will only receive notification by email or word of mouth.
