NIGERIA FIRE KESHI DESPITE BEATING SUDAN 3-1! •Super Eagles coach replaced by Shuaibu Amodu as care taker •56-year-old Amodu to lead Nigeria in last qualifiers •Foreign (expatriate) coach to be hired after qualifiers • Daniel Amokachi departs too with Ike Shorounmu •Sacked coaches to be paid entitlements in two weeks •Fired coaches offered refresher courses in countries of their choice An official Nigeria Football Federation communique confirms Stephen Keshi has been relieved of his duties. This is despite the Super Eagles picking up their first win in Group A of the Morocco 2015 qualification after beating Sudan 3-1 in midweek. African champions Nigeria are third in the group with 4 points behind surprise leaders South Africa on 8 points and Congo on 7 points with two matches left to play. Despite praising the sacked Keshi and his technical team as True national heroes (for winning 2013 Africa Cup I suppose) and thanking them for their excellent contribution the NFF statement read in part: However, in the interest of Nigerian football and the desire to ensure qualification for the 2015 Africa Cup, the committee (of NFF) has decided to relieve them of their duties with immediate effect. Caretaker Amodu comes back for his fifth stint as Nigeria boss leading a consortium of coaches that include former Super Eagles star Garba Lawal.
