NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE RECRUITMENT - AN EYE OPENER: MY SUGGESTIONS TO PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN, GCFR ON HOW TO CREATE JOBS IN NIGERIA.... 1. President Jonathan should request The Registrar-General of Corporate Affars Commission (CAC) to produce report on Nigerian owned companies whose Turnover are above N10 billion and above per annum (Irrespective of the fact that they might have understated their income for tax purpose. Otherwise I would have suggested N20 billion and above). This data base should be updated annually to accomodate new entrants. (I am not including foreign companies because they exploit Nigerians beyond reasonable doubt. Except Federal Government would surmount enough courage to saction and prosecute any err foreign companies including some few Nigerian companies as well) 2. The President should request the Minister of Mineral resources and other related agencies saddle with the responsibilities of ascertaining mineral deposits at commercial quantities in each state of the Federation including FCT Abuja to produce reports bearing in mind the exploration details in each of these states. 3. Similarly, the President should invite: All the Directors (not dubious and fraudulents) whose companies annual returns fall within the above Turnover threshold of N10 billion and above (i.e Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON, Otunba Mike Adenuga Jnr, GCON and others down the ladder); All States Governors and CBN Governor; All Ministers and Managing Directors of the Banks of Industries and Agriculture. 4. Discuss modalities and possibilities of each of these captains of industries can establish at least a company in each of the states of the Federation with at least N10 billion share capital with a timeline frame. (Which means if we have 300 Industrialists/ Entrepreneurs, we would have 300 companies in each state of the Federation. While we would boast of 11,100 companies nationawide. If each company employs an average of 1,000 staff, then we would be talking of 11.1 millions youth leaving the already saturated labour market. Expansion of these companies would come on stream thereafter. 5. The battle field would be for President Jonathan to either: Directs Federal Government (through the offices of Minster of Finance and CBN Governor) to provide the necessary calculated loans at not more than 5% ineterest rate with at least 5 years moratorium period (FG should not be a shareholder and should not have power or right to direct, control and interfere in the affairs of these companies but to provide and legislate an enabling environments to strive and succeed; or 6. To direct all Nigerian banks to provide these loans whether out of their idle trillions SME reserves or from whichever funds at inetrest rate of not more than 5% with their current/ existing companies assets and board of directors reputations serving as collatarals (Remember that these companies and their directors must be people with high integrity and well-respected); or 7. President Jonathan can also invite either officials of African Development Bank or World Bank, or both or whichever financial institution(s) or any other available options that would be able to finance these laudable projects at an interest rate of not more than 5% or any favorable single digit interest rate with some moratorium period as may be applicable. Nigeria, Great Nation! Good people! We shall succeed! Thank you
