NIGERIANS AND SINFUL MUSIC My friend Covenanted Chim Nonso - TopicsExpress

NIGERIANS AND SINFUL MUSIC My friend Covenanted Chim Nonso penned that any music that has no logical sense is sin, irrespective of genre. Be it figurative or literal, he is so correct that he needs no correction. We practically have no good songs in Nigeria. We are forced to hear the senseless jargons of druken smokers on our radios day in, day out. No wonder the demand for Panadol Extra has risen like fuel price. And when they make their videos, you find a complete disconnection between whatever they are singing, and what they are acting. The only string that ties both is that both are as the dung in my toilet. Such complete loss of thought continues to make mockery of the talent of great directors like Clarence Peters. Why would someone not inane go into a studio, and produce noise: repeating one semantically-dumb slang? It is pathetic enough to hear them say they get inspiration from God. I guess they are talking about their ancestors, not my God. To add pepper to a cut, some acclaimed-christians see nothing wrong with these songs. They sing it, dance to it, and favourite it. Such black-white folks will attack this write-up. The god of this world has blinded there eyes. Dear artistes, please make songs with common sense. We are tired of these senseless, deafening thing you guys call music. We need good music, not sinful music. This is my submission.
