Managing Director of Condé Nast India, Alex Kuruvilla, with director Vinil Mathew, has produced a short film for #VogueEmpower, Start With The Boys, to change the way we raise young boys and nip domestic violence in the bud. Inspired by Susan Sarandons statement at the Goa Film Fest If you want to make a change, start with the boys, Kuruvilla chose to approach this subject as his pledge initiative for Vogue Empower. We often teach young boys to Stop crying like a girl! because boys dont cry. Lessons of empathy are lost. The film aims to teach boys to respect women and treat them as equals. The idea of the film is centred around the fundamental truth that womens empowerment is not about women alone, which is why I pledged to create a short film that communicates clearly the need to change the mindset of boys before they become men,says Kuruvilla.
