NOVENA TO SAINT PEDRO CALUNGSOD DAILY PRAYER Saint Pedro Calungsod, student, catechist, young migrant, missionary, faithful friend, martyr, you inspire us by your fidelity in times of adversity; by your courage in teaching the faith in the midst of hostility; and by your love in shedding your blood for the sake of the Gospel. Make our troubles your own ( here mention your request ) and intercede for us before the throne of Mercy and Grace so that, as we experience the help of heaven, we may be encouraged to live and proclaim the Gospel here on earth. Amen. FIRST DAY ( March 24 ) Say the Daily Prayer Saint Pedro Calungsod, we ask your intercession for our youth who are suffering from identity crisis, not knowing what to do with their lives, and who wallow in extreme poverty and vices. At 17, you volunteered to be a missionary, to act as a sacristan to the Jesuit Fathers who were evangelizing Guam. You did not fear leaving your country and your family, enthusiastic to share Jesus with others. Inspire the youth of our country to find meaning in Jesus and look for reward in Jesus. May you guide them to find joy in sharing Jesus with others. Amen. Say the Concluding Prayer, Three Our Father and Three Glory to the Father Saint Pedro Calungsod, pray for us ( Three times ) CONCLUDING PRAYER Almighty God, by whose gift Saint Pedro Calungsod, the Martyr, witnessed to the Gospel even to the shedding of his blood. Grant, by his example and intercession, that we, too, may live for you, boldly and steadfastly, confessing your name through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
