NSIKIDZI OUT BREAK HITS SALIMA DISTRICT People of Salima district find it hard to sleep due to the hot temperature the district experiences all the time, as this is not enough, an outbreak of Nsikidzi has even caused the hardly found sleep to be scarce. Salima District hospital was recently hit by the outbreak and a Staff member disclosed that they suspect the Nsikidzi to have been brought to the Hospital wards by petients and guardians from Lifidzi, southern salima. Acording to the council chairperson for Salima Mr Kadammanja who is also ward councilor for Kambwiri Ward, the outbreak has hit Lifidzi, Kaphatenga, Mlima and Mangwe villeges near Kaphatenga roadblock. Salima council chair said that he will be having an audience with the District Health Officer (DHO) on the matter Sikidzi outbreak hit some areas in the capital city Lilongwe recentry. Some people in salima have accused the DHO of lucking seriousness in supervising the Mpopera hired boys and girls saying if the work was done perfectly the Nsikidzi could not be surviving in the houses that were sprayed with insect cides. Bed Bugs (Nsikidzi or Sikidzi) have some side effects in persons who are bitten. Some sources claim that bed bugs are to blame for the spread of Leprosy, Q Fever, Oriental Sores and Brucellosis. Bed bugs also cause psychological concerns resulting in lack of sleep and stress. If bed bugs are found in you house, call a professional pest control person to spray your house. Unfortunately in Malawi, pest control spraying is done by unskilled boys and girls who are hired to do the work on behalf of Ministry of Health.
