#NSW #Fire #Corp #nswfires Update: Advice - Mount York Road, Mount Victoria Fire (Blue Mountains) 28/10/13 20:04 Posted: 28/10/2013 The Mount York fire around Mount Victoria is currently at Advice. Current Situation Fire continues to burn in the vicinity of Blackheath and could threaten Mt Victoria, Shipley, Hartley Vale, Little Hartley, the Megalong Valley and the Kanimbla Valley. There is no immediate threat to property, Firefighters have worked throughout the day to strengthen and maintain containment lines. Work being undertaken is producing heavy smoke from the mid mountains right through to the upper mountains. Advice Mount Irvine and Mount Wilson residents should remain vigiliant, closely monitor the fire situation and take advice from firefighters in the area. Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Leaving early is the safest option. Road Closures Please be aware that road closures may occur without notice. Roads may be closed for an undetermined length of time. Motorists are urged to avoid all bush fire affected areas. Bells Line of Road between Mount Tomah and Lithgow will be open from 11.00am 28/10/2013 Mt Victoria - Darling Causeway, Hartley Vale Rd and Fields Rd (Browns Gap) will be open from 11.00am. 28/10/2013 Mt Wilson Road from Bells Line of Road Intersection Open for Residents Only. Winmalee – Singles Ridge Road Open for Residents Only The Great Western Highway is currently open. For the latest traffic information, visit livetraffic.au or call 132 701.
