National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is November 18 - 24, 2013. Please join us this week during one of our many events to raise awareness. November 18, 2013 - Hunger Banquet - 6:00 p.m - E-Lounge R.S.V.P Required (708) 235-7454 Please join us as we consider the scope and scale of global hunger and equality and the circumstances that lead to so many going to bed hungry. November 19, 2013 - Civic Engagement Workshops - 12 - 1 p.m. & 3 - 4 p.m. - A2110 A workshop designed to provide information on Hunger and Homelessness in America, as well as discuss the GSU Community Service Council and Program Council and their roles this year. Lunch will be provided at non, refreshments at 3 p.m. November 20, 2013 - Wasted Food in America - 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. - Cafeteria Annex Visual displays examine the problems and causes of food waste. Join us at 1 p.m. for an interactive trivia game on wasted food in America. November 21, 2013 - Inocente Film Screening and Panel Discussion - 5 - 7 p.m. - F1622 Featuring Drs. Phyllis West, Debbie James, Andrae Marak and Student Miguel Martinez. Join us for the Academy Award winning short documentary and open discussion. A coming of age story about a young artist as an undocumented immigrant forced to live homeless. November 22, 2013 - Food Pantry Open for Thanksgiving - Noon - 5 p.m. - A2141 November 23, 2013 - Day of Service - 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Riegel Farm, University Park, IL Sign Up (708) 235-7454 GSU will participate in a day of service with the University Park Parks and Recreation Department.
