National Prayer Breakfast... Doing Things Right.... There is something real good about leaders from different sectors coming together to pray which is what we did today. The prayers are organized by the Parliamentary committee led by Hon. Captain Wambugu Mathioya MP; a church elder dedicated to the prayer mission. The President accompanied by the first lady and the Deputy President attended the prayers leading the executive and Cabinet Secretaries. Both Speakers were present and the Judiciary was represented by the Deputy CJ, Judge Njoki, Judge Kihara Kariuki etc. We had private sector, diplomatic corps, other prayer groups from within and outside Kenya. There were good prayers, moments and quotes on humility and doing the right things in the right way. Judge Kariuki prayed that we abandon all the horrible isms, terrorism, nepotism, tribalism etc. Hon. Ekwe gave a good quote corruption is not a devolved function neither is it a national government function. The Guest Speaker Amb. Scott Gration shared critical life lessons he had experienced during his illustrious career as a pilot. Between Birth and Death there is a dash - it is up to us to define the dash in our lifetime. The DP reminded us we have walked the path of corruption and nepotism and seen it leads us to backwardness. We must resolve to use the new road of unity and shared prosperity. The President reflected briefly on the fact that God has never abandoned Kenya, it could be the Kenyans who abandoned God. He hoped that just half of us in that room would follow the teachings of the day and transform Kenya. We are called to action for our great beautiful country.
