Neighbours complain about home painted to look like floating house in animated film classic Up The residents of the #oldestStreet in Santa Clara, are not pleased with one #residents brightly coloured homage to Pixars 2009 childrens hit. Killjoy #neighbours are Up in arms at a familys decision to renovate their #home to resemble the #house in the animated film of the same name. #HarrisonStreet is the oldest in #SantaClara, #California, and lined with #Victorian-style houses, some more than 100 years old. Many #homeowners take pride in preserving the original look and style - and they were horrified when neighbours Hosam Haggog and Fatima Rahman spent more than two years #renovating their #property to look like the colourful house from the 2009 Pixar Animation film. The couple cant understand all the fuss and said they only painted the house to please their children. Mr Haggog said: They love the movie UP and we just thought wed give them something fun to be proud of - and actually all the kids in the #neighborhood really love the colors. However, neighbor Lou Faria told NBC Bay Area News: I don’t think it fits in. It really, in my opinion, is atrocious that this Victorian is a gracious old lady and it’s being painted up to look like a clown. In the film, elderly widower Carl Fredricksen ties thousands of balloons to his home and turns it into a makeshift airship, then sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America and to complete a promise made to his lifelong love.
