New Job Project Accountant - LBPA65 Industry: Accountancy Job Type: Permanent Location: Swindon, England Salary: £25000 - £38000 per annum An interesting role has become available for a Qualified Project Accountant working with a key government client. As Project Accountant you will be employed for a dynamic global leader who will be providing 24x7 services as an Integrator to manage Facilities Management (FM) services which will be performed by the FM Supply Chain. The FM services would be provided in multiple locations across London and one of the key focus areas of the role would be to monitor a significant budget and report on the variances. This is a hands-on role and the successful candidate must have the ability to work with cross-functional teams and deliver results. Key Purposes of the Role: *Responsible for monitoring the actual spend as compared to the budget and reporting on the variances. *Manage a team of a minimum of 6 people *Liaise with the Client and other functional team members. *To produce all regular and ad hoc reports in an accurate and timely manner as per the time schedule agreed with the Client *Accountable for ensuring all supplier invoices are verified and paid as per the terms of the contractual agreement. *To oversee as well as create and upload Invoice batches for payment *Responsible for ensuring supplier invoice disputes are resolved expeditiously. *To oversee as well as raise customer invoices as per contract terms *To carry out the month-end close process and report on project performance. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Essential: *Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant relevant experience in a shared services type environment. *Demonstrates a systematic approach to tasks and measures progress against plans *Experience *Ability to work as part of an integrated team or individually as required *Effective communicator both verbal and written with ability to produce accurate and timely reports *Excellent MS Office applications skills *A track record of identifying the need for additional systems and processes *Has worked in roles where he/she has had to accept responsibility for data accuracy within own remit and work area and compliance with company and or legal requirements *Ability to produce weekly / monthly summary reports *Experience of working in a high volume transaction processing environment (supplier invoices) *Should be able to undergo training at Leatherhead, Surrey. *Commits to putting customers first and delivers high quality service that meets or exceeds expectations. If you have experience of working with Maximo / SharePoint and of working in a company that provides facilities management services this would be of benefit but is not essential. Core Responsibilities and Duties Key Tasks: *Ensure that the supplier invoices are verified as per the contract agreement. *Liaise with team members, assist in prioritising team work load, and ensure verified supplier invoices are promptly uploaded for payment. *Timely communication with the supplier on all disputed invoices *Liaise with the Supplier, other team members and Client to ensure speedy resolution of supplier invoice disputes *Produce all regular reports in an accurate and timely manner as per the time schedule agreed with the Client *Produce ad-hoc reports as requested by the Client and within the agreed time frame. *Raise Client invoices as per contract *Prepare Journals, obtain approval and input in SAP. *Responsible for the month-end close process including production of reports. *Produce budgets and forecasts for the project and monitor actual performance vis-à-vis forecasts. *Report against financial management deliverables and KPIs *Carry out self-assessments, as required, to ensure SOX compliance. *Carry out other ad-hoc tasks as required.
