Newest update: Just ran home to feed the dogs and change clothes and get back to the hospital. Als new knee is doing okay. That is the least of his problems. 1-His heart is in atrial fibrillation. Even with a cardizam (heart medication) IV going constantly, his heart rate is out the roof. 2-Extreme, extreme difficulty breathing, to the point that his whole body was moving to try to draw in one more breath. 3-Infection/inflammation in the intestine. 4-Fluid building up in his lungs. 5-Intestines filling up-colon greatly distended, unbelievable swelling. 6-ALL blood/labs are off the chart in the toilet. As of 10:30 he finally made it to ICU. Several procedures were done on him in ER because he was too unstable to move. As of right now, colon/intestines have been decompressed, not quite as swollen. He had an NG tube (tube down the nose into the stomach) to help with nausea, fluid build-up. His nausea is better, breathing is a bit easier though hes still having to work pretty hard. Heart-rate, while far from stabilized, is a bit lower most of the time. He still has atrial fib. I was told this problem with his colon will probably reoccur. Were praying no surgery (itd be major if it happens), heart-rate stabilize at a more acceptable number, fluid in the lungs vanishes...oh, if Im going to dream/pray, Im going to ask for ALL of it to be gone. This has been an awful day. Heck, its been a lousy week, culminating with my husband nearly dying on me. He went downhill so bad, so fast, it was astounding. Thank you ALL for your continued prayers and compassionate words. I, for one, believe its made all the difference. ♥
