News from City of Cleveland Mayors Office: City of Cleveland Website Hacked Early this morning, at approximately 3:30 AM, the City of Cleveland was notified that our website city.cleveland.oh.us/ was made unavailable due to an outside denial-of-service (DoS) attack. At no point was the content or control of the website ever compromised. The City of Cleveland and our website vendor are reviewing the incident and determining proper preventative measures to be added in order to ensure future attacks are thwarted. The website will be accessible when that assessment is completed and those measures are in place. This incident is being considered a criminal matter and is begin investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The City of Cleveland website provides information on services and resources available to thousands of visitors and residents on a daily basis.
