News from the field: Dinosaur discoveries in the making! Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology Dr. Michael Ryan and Jeremy Riedel, vertebrate paleontology collections manager, are conducting fieldwork in Alberta, Canada. The team is excavating two rock formations to recover dinosaur bones. One fossil site is on a steep cliff and contains the remains of a hadrosaur (duck-billed dinosaur). The other site is a productive centrosaur (horned dinosaur) quarry in which they are uncovering the bones from the top of a dinosaur’s head.
