Next ballot opinion, is more of a question. Most of my like minded friends are a YES on Proposition 104. I lean that way myself, because Im not a fan of unions, which is another discussion for another day. Having full information about what exactly the situation is that youre relinquishing your child into for 7 or so hours a day, seems to be common sense. There are two competing aspects to this Proposition, that I fully appreciate 1) Public employee who has access to my child/children, and I want to be fully informed. We see news stories about a union ensuring a teacher is retained, under some pretty bad circumstances. Or 2) I would want my contract negotiation to be a private matter. Chosen career field . . . expectations for fair treatment to the teacher . . . see what Im saying here? Would love to hear everyones thoughts.
