Ni dominants (INTJ and INFJ) live in a world defined, not by its limits, but by its possibilities. Much like the Tralfamadorians in Slaughterhouse-Five, they don’t see any particular thing or moment in isolation, rather they see backwards into how that thing came to be what it is and what it will morph into in the future. As a result, Ni doms are rarely grounded in the present moment, often lost in the invisible web of their mind’s eye that connects everything and creates possibilities. What’s most surprising to non-Ni types is how often these interpretations are accurate. It’s not all good news though. Ni’s see the connections in everything, even in unrelated things, which can lead to darkly obsessive trains of thought, which turn the Ni users into worst-case-scenario machines. They can be wild hypochondriacs, for instance. Or, if feeling insecure in a relationship, they may become jealous or hypervigilant of their partner’s safety, creating incredibly detailed disaster scenarios in their imaginations when their partner isn’t at their side.
