Nicholas is my eight year old grandson [son of Scott and Vicki ] and has recently been found to have a low grade non malignant glioma located near the brain stem. It is non operable. It has been there for a long time and may have been there since birth. Nicholas is large for his age[5 ft + and over 100 lbs] . In looking for the cause of this abnormal growth the tumor was discovered. More tests will follow but as of now it looks like Nick will have Chemo once a week for 65 weeks. This might shrink the tumor, keep it the same or there is a 30% chance it will grow. Hopefully it will stop the hormones that are causing his growth and early puberty. Please keep Nicholas, Scott, Vicki and our whole family[and her whole family] in your prayers. Nicholas, other than his growth and early puberty, exhibits no ill effects at this time. Thanks again.
