Nigerian Baptist Convention Seek Daily Wednesday, April 23 Isaiah 53: 1-7 A MAN OF SUFFERING He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering...Isaiah 53:3, NIV Have you ever imagined what Jesus went through in order to save the world? He was called “a man of sorrow”. What does that imply? The implication is that He became a man who suffered greatly. This is ridiculous! How can the Saviour of the world become a man of suffering? That is the price He paid in order to save the world. He did not hold it against anybody; instead, He took it with joy. Therefore, know that on your journey to fulfilment in life, you will experience a lot of things. If need be, you will be despised, rejected and disgraced. Your faith will be tried at some point. God may permit it just to check your heart; be careful not to fail God. Fix your eyes on the prize, determine like Jesus to pay the price. You must not harbour any ill- feelings towards anyone. All that you are facing now and that you will still face are plans of the enemy to distract you from the goal. Always pray for grace to be an overcomer. • Birthday Blessing: “They (you) will eat and lie down and no one will make you afraid” - Zephaniah 3: 13 Read Bible Through Passage: 1 Samuel 6, 7, 8; Luke 17: 1-19 Suffering so unbolts the door of the heart that the Word has no easier entrance. – Richard Baxter
