No Condemnation, but What About Consequence? #DailyProverbs Romans 8:1-4: There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit, which brings us life in union with Christ Jesus, has set me free from the law of sin and death. What the Law could not do, because human nature was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human nature by sending his own Son, who came with a nature like sinful human nature, to do away with sin. God did this so that the righteous demands of the Law might be fully satisfied in us who live according to the Spirit, and not according to human nature. Thats just how I am... Im just built that way... Just being myself... Its easy to say that God saved us, so lets just be ourselves. And God does want you to be your best you. But, cmon... at least TRY to be a good person. At least try to be kind, to go against our sinful nature and be kind to others, to love as Christ loved. God loves us. God forgives us. God works WITH us... Some believers, and I say that as truly as possible (believers being those that actually believe in Christ and follow His teachings) are plagued by feelings of condemnation. Either they think theyll never live up to Gods expectations for them or theyre nearly drowning in guilt over past sins. These brothers and sisters in Christ cannot seem to shake the sense that God is displeased with their limited efforts at being Christ-like. The book of Romans confronts this lie head-on: There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1). When Jesus went to the cross on our behalf, He took the blame from our shoulders and his purity actually made us able to stand righteous before God. Those feelings of condemnation do not belong to us; they are lies from Satan. They are the only weapon the devil has against us. The devil is NOT Gods opposite. God has no equal, or opposite. The devil is a CREATED being, just like us. And he stands in amazement of salvation, outside of its purview, just like the other created angels. His ONLY weapon against someone that is a believe is lies. Using those lies, he amplifies our guilt. He magnifies our human feelings of inadequacy and then suggests thats how the Lord feels about His wayward child. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our sins are wiped clean, and we are chosen and loved by God. (Its our job to stay clean.) Now, for those that actively reject God, either directly or through their daily actions (we are known by our fruit), we know that we are go against our baser desires and human drives. Romans 8: 5-6: Those who live as their human nature tells them to, have their minds controlled by what human nature wants. Those who live as the Spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the Spirit wants. To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. Condemnation is reserved for those who reject the Lord (John 3:36). Sin is a death sentence (Rom. 6:23). Anyone who chooses to cling to sin instead of seeking divine forgiveness must pay the penalty, which is an eternity separated from God. Two synonyms of condemn are denounce and revile. Those words certainly describe Jesus statement to unbelievers in Matthew 25:41: Depart from me, accursed ones. But... are you trying? Are you doing your best to get to God? Well, then... get there!!! God will meet you there, right where you are trying! There is no condemnation for those who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. The believers penalty for sin is paid, and he can stand blameless before God. Trust in the Lords love and let go of Satans lie. Gods beloved children are covered by His grace and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Dont wallow another second, paralyzed by a lie!!! Get up, go do something good today! Go show Jesus to someone. Go be Jesus with skin on and feed a hungry person, share a moment with someone and be the only good part of their day! Love yall!!!
