Not Just Another Story For This Family! I got a call late - TopicsExpress

Not Just Another Story For This Family! I got a call late Friday afternoon. A new foster family had just been put together. Mom and Dad had said yes to fostering 2 siblings boys, ages 4 and 5. They needed some things and made an appointment for Saturday afternoon. They lived 2 hours away from Sammys Window. We aimed to make their drive worth the while. 2pm Saturday came and 4 sets of wild eyes came through the door of Sammys Window. 2 sets belonged to the parents who had had a wild ride with these 2 energized, big eyed boys. The boys were content to see if they could play with every toy they could grab, their progress slowed only by an urgent bathroom break, then back to it.. Dad refereed while Mom shopped. She was a very efficient shopper and made quick work out of it. Soon we picked out hygiene items and each boy picked a toy to take home. We loaded up and headed across town to pick out beds. When we arrived at our furniture storage, we were greeted by three vehicles each hauling in beds. 2 bunk sets and a daybed/trundle set. One twin bunk set went straight in to the truck carrying the 2 boys. We loaded up some mattresses, some drinks for the road, and coupons for 2 large Little Caesars pizzas so they could enjoy dinner before the 2 hour trip to their new home. Off they rolled, into the sunset. We did our job. We helped this Mom and Dad to the best of our ability. Please keep them in your prayers. Every family unit needs it. Sometimes foster families need a double dose. Lots of newness and family molding to do. Now its your job to help as well! Thanks for reading, Mark
