Lions Club Seeking Old Eyeglasses, Cell Phones & More May 09, 2014 The Lions Club recycles! They collect eyeglasses and hearing aids and then distribute them to people who cannot afford them. The glasses go to the Philippines, Mexico and other needy areas, while the hearing aids are refurbished and made available to folks in California who can afford new ones. They also recycle used inkjet cartridges and cell phones as a way to help fund their scholarship programs. While eyeglasses can always be dropped off at Coastside Eye Care Optometry, they will stop by any coastside location to pick up any eyeglasses, hearing aids, cell phones and inkjet cartridges. Just send an email to [email protected] and they will make arrangements to stop-by to pick them up!
