Not too seriously Dont take yourself too seriously. Be responsible, reliable, dependable and level-headed, but dont get all bent out of shape when you stumble, or when the world knocks you around. It’s foolish to ignore the problems and hope theyll go away. Yet it can also be powerful to laugh at your troubles and to know that youll eventually get yourself far beyond them. Be ambitious, focused and diligent, but dont beat yourself up when you occasionally wander off track. When it happens, just see what’s there to see, have some new experiences, gain some new wisdom, and calmly move yourself back in your intended direction. Do less complaining and judging . Do more laughing and sharing. Plan well, and work your plan, but dont act like it’s the end of the world if things occasionally dont go according to the plan. Make some adjustments, remember to smile, and youll be just fine. Much of life is indeed serious business, but being uptight about it doesnt add any value. Loosen up, enjoy the moment youre in, and youll be better able to deal with whatever comes your way. Seeds of peace 3 Jan, 2015 Ignorance makes you believe that life functions haphazardly. Thoughts on Todays Verse... We have two choices for our lives. Either we can live by faith or by sight. We can trust in Gods abiding presence and power or we can depend upon our own resources. But wealth, like health, status, and reputation are all subject to decay and disappearance. Only one Source is always there for us and we know we can depend upon him, because he has been there for so many who have come before us. Never is forever and this one never I cherish: Never will I forsake you! 2 Samuel 7:27 27 For thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. “So now, great God, this word that you have spoken to me and my family, guarantee it permanently! Do exactly what youve promised! Then your reputation will flourish always as people exclaim, ‘The God-of-the-Angel-Armies is God over Israel!’ And the house of your servant David will remain sure and solid in your watchful presence. For you, God-of-the-Angel-Armies, Israel’s God, told me plainly, ‘I will build you a house.’ That’s how I was able to find the courage to pray this prayer to you. Today’s commentary David was confident in what God had revealed to him, so he was bold in his prayers to build a temple. This may cause us ask, “That’s fine for David, but how do I know what God wants for me?” That is where the Scripture comes in. The Bible is filled with promises that God intended for us. Finding these promises can change our perspectives about our circumstances as they give us the courage to pray boldly and wait in anticipation for answers from heaven. Ask, seek, and knock, for the promises of God are waiting for you. Love, Lizzy
