Now Is the Time for the GOP to Put Aside Differences and Virtually Insure Regaining the Senate Majority This November, we face one of the most important elections of our lifetime. If the Left retains its Senate majority, President Obama will continue to have the minimum control he needs to continue pushing his agenda. However, if Republicans are successful in picking up the six seats they need to have a 51 seat majority, the President will face an uphill battle just to keep policies in place that he’s already implemented. The most recent Washington Post Election Lab poll gives the Republican Party 86% chance of winning control of the Senate; and the Practical Politicking Report puts the odds at 75%. However, a few races are still very close and could still swing.
