Now for a little news about our NJ native, ELLA-BELLA, who hailed from the Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, our local facility. ELLA-BELLA is in foster care with our group in a home that is local to our veterinarian, as she is receiving follow-up treatment for Lyme Disease. Abandoned on a northern NJ fairground, ELLA-BELLA was left behind with no concern for her safety or protection by her previous owner who worked on the fairgrounds during the event, then returned to his native Florida. If not for the kindness of a concerned party, ELLA-BELLA would have continued to struggle for many more days, wondering where her next meal was coming from, hiding from predators, and wandering in the hot sun, already feverish from Lyme Disease....Also left behind the same day was CLARK, a big dog who is still seeking rescue or adoptive help at the Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter in Milford, NJ. We pray every day that he, too, will find someone who will love him again, and give him the same good care we are giving ELLA-BELLA. That good care in foster has allowed her to rest and recuperate physically from her abandonment and Lyme Disease. It has also allowed her to begin to mend emotionally from the confusion and broken heart that such a cruel act always causes, particularly to a gentle senior animal. Send a little love today in thought and prayer to ELLA-BELLA, the nicest and kindest of Dachshunds who certainly did not deserve what fate handed her. I know when she is ready to move on, she will have a long list of admirers ready to offer heart and LOVING home!
