Nurses: From the WNA lobbyist Toni Decklever: Hi All -- Senator Hastert and Senator Craft are in favor of Medicaid Expansion, but they are in the minority - not the majority. Medicaid expansion provides a form of insurance to those who do not have insurance now - and gives providers a little bit of reimbursement. Not enough - we know. But more than they are getting now - which is nothing. Our legislators that are opposed to this program use the excuse that they are afraid the Federal Government will renig on their promise to pay for the bulk of the program. (100% for 2014-15-16 and then decreasing to 90% by 2020). Even though our state can put a trigger in legislation that allows us to back out of the program if the Feds dont hold up their end of the bargain, they feel like it is unfair to put people into a system - only to potentially take it away. Supporters do not believe this will happen, and are in agreement that some care is better than no care at all. There are plenty of times when people start with one thing and it gets changed - for a variety of reasons. This happens even for those with regular insurance. Have a great dialogue! Toni
